Relaxation does the body GOOOOOD

So here I am down in Orlando just kickin it to the maximum. I got down here on Monday morning and from the airport went straight to the rent-a-car place. Prior to my arrival we had set a reservation for a mid-size car. When I got to the place they made me sign the agreements and law contracts blah blah blah, which I don't think anyone really reads. I was just anxious to pick out what car i'd be driving. Outside in front there where 4 cars lined up, all supposedly mid size cars. When we were walking towards the lot, the man had pointed out this bright fruity colored Toyota Corolla. My initial reaction was "are you kidding me" hahaha. He asked if i wanted to upgrade and I was sure as hell not driving the blue fruit loop. The man told me the Charger was an extra $100 so I had to calm down and accept the fact that the Blue Beast was a mid-size car. I took it off the lot and then proceeded to PSU's practice. After telling some of the guys on the team i'd be rolling up in a drop top or something flashy, I had to hear the 30 seconds worth of jokes when meeting up with some of the guys but so what lol, we all got a good laugh.

I just realized this morning that NYE is coming up in just one day. I haven't even made any new years plans yet, but thinking about it this entire year has been crazy and went by wayyy too fast. Time will fly when you are having fun, and that is exactly what I have been doing this past year. Who knows what will come next? all I know is what I have planned and I know exactly what I have to do to get there. Faith, hope, and determination will be the main surges of energy of course.

Momma Bintz arrives tomorrow so I can't wait for that so I have someone to hang with down here and to get my first win in Monopoly vs. her lol...I'll be back on this mofo before the game hopefully =) HAVE A GREAT AND SAFE NEW YEARS EVERYONE.....K BYEEEEEEEE

Praise your team =)

I’ve watched sports my entire life. Football, basketball, baseball and even wrestling were amongst my favorite. After growing up glued to the t.v. I have never found a team/athlete to admire and root for. I have all the love in the world for sports but could never get into it as much as some others. This past year (2009) I have been to more games than any other year of my life. Never was there a time where I would go all out as to purchasing a t-shirt or even screaming at the top of my lungs for an athlete. In any case I would always root for my friends and teammates back in high school and college but of course you are supposed to root for your own team. It’s crazy how dedicated some fans are, even though they boo players when they’re having a bad game they are still loyal to their teams.
This past spring when the recession was getting to be really bad I met a man who was laid off from a bank. Even though he had a kid and wife to take care of, he was so committed to keeping his Yankee season tickets. Now of course when you live in NYC any person would be smart enough to sell the tickets to help out the household. But not this guy, he told me he has been going to games since he was a little kid and those tickets were something he was never going to give up. I admired the passion of course, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. I think people are born into being a fan of a team. When I was growing up my mother was always a 49ers fan so I tried getting into that team and will still claim today “49ers are my favorite team” but it’s not true at all lol.
When parents teach their kids sports they will have them watch a certain team and a kid will pick up on that enthusiasm and dedication. It is sad to me sometimes because I have seen friends of mine suffer an entire weekend or even the Monday at work because their team lost. I can’t be bitter and say “grow up” to these people because I’ve never been involved with a team like that. I admire the fact that I am different in that case because you may not realize it but it saves a hell of a lot of money when you’re not committed to a team. Summing up all this, I just want to say I mostly admire the sports atmosphere with exciting plays, rivalries, upsets ect. Never will I go home unsatisfied after watching two teams compete because it is worth being in that environment with a few beers and $15 sandwiches at hand.

Can you feel it in the Air? It's time for a Jingle or 2

Christmas is right around the corner...yippy! No no I really don't care too much about the holidays. I'm not against it in any way but I can't remember the last time I was involved with the "Christmas Spirit". For the past couple of years my holidays were either spent at a restaurant with my beautiful mother or being on the road for a bowl game. It's not something I avoid, but I really don't see the purpose of decorating an apartment when you live alone. Between the lights and tree and the thingy on the front door, it's just a waste of time for me. I actually like the fact that i'm so different to the point where it's not a tradition to decorate and do the whole opening gifts under the tree gig. In the future if I have a family and stuff i will be new to the whole experience again. I remember Christmases when I was a little kid in North Carolina and my entire family would be at the same house all awaiting that morning. I was the only member who would be an ass and be awake at 3am just scurrying through the gifts looking for my name on presents and just opening them on my own terms. I would then after go drink the milk and cookies and claim I shared them with Santa Claus haha. I know this year Momma Bintz and I will choose to go to a fancy restaurant and just have a meal and maybe catch a movie, possibly a chick flick which I'll suffer through for the holiday cheer cause.
If I can say anything to everyone I would encourage all to enjoy that time with your family and friends and don't let the holiday season be an excuse to bring everyone together. I know that I'll be happy once I get down to Florida and cruise around in a convertible to extend my dream season and top it off with a nice New Years and a PSU win.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!! K BYYYYEEEEEEEEE

Take it Or Leave it...

Okay, so it is now Wednesday and this week has been going extremely slow. Probably because it has been a busy one and I've been trying to fix up my apartment a little bit. I wanna get right into this because I still have some more shiznit to do this evening. Anyway, two weeks ago I received a call from someone I didn't know who asked for me by my full name. At first I thought I was in some trouble because whenever someone asks for you saying your full name, you tend to think something is wrong. It was a friend of a friend who wanted to talk some business aka "showbiz". Immediately I got real defensive saying "who are you and how the F did you get my number" blah blah. I calmed down since I knew it was a call that was 2 important for an email. At this point in my day I was surprised to receive such a call and what the situation dealt with. After about a 20 minute conversation I texted my 11 friends asking what they thought about my opportunity. Even though I had my final decision in mind , I still wanted opinions from the people closest to me. For the most part they had some great feedback. I really appreciate the support I get from these people cause they're effing awesome.
I just felt like writing this blog because I've been having convos with people about their opportunities and options lately. What I tell them is that opportunities come daily, and they could change your life for better or for worse. In my case I declined something that would have taken me on a completely different route then the one I want to be on. Everyone has the freedom to do what they want, so when people say "i'm stuck here and I hate my job" nobody is holding you back BUT always weigh out the options if indeed you decide to jump at an opportunity. This all didn't make much sense but to me it does to me and it's been 4 days since I posted something so uhhhh there ya go =)

Tomorrow I'll be talking about the holiday season and how I'm just not a part of it haha K BYYYEEEEEEEEEE

Florida, The bLaCk will be back

After a long wait, it is settled. PSU will be playing LSU in the 2010 Capital One Bowl on New Years day in Orlando, Florida. I can't go on and make predictions about the game because I have no idea what kind of talent LSU has, so i'll leave that to the experts. All I can say is that they are an SEC team which means they are very very fast. I wish they guys good luck and especially to the seniors in their last college game. As for me it will be the last game I get to film DC in a blue & white uniform, well unless he gets drafted by the Colts but y'all know what I mean. So this game takes place on New Years day, and for a party guy like myself I don't think i'll be out on New Years Eve sadly. A few weeks back I made my rule that I can't hang out anywhere unless 1 of the 11 homies are with me. I don't think any of them will be down in Florida so I'll stay home and watch the ball drop with the family. I'm real glad to be having the game in Orlando because I have a place to stay and i'm familiar with the area because i've been to the Capital One game many years ago as an N.C. State recruit.
I'll be flying down on the 28th and returning to the city on Jan 4th. so that little bit of heat for a while will be good for keeping the even skin tone and letting me wear my shorts n t-shirts outside. I still have a little bit of kid in me so i'll definitely be hitting up Disney for a day or 2 while down there and also be kickin it at City Walk. Until then this 22 degree weather will just continue to make my skin ashy and dry lol. Anyway it is Friday and i'll go off and be productive with my Liiiiiife. I'll catch the readers back on Monday soo ummmm K BYEEEEEE

Hall Of Fame Event=Free drinks/food in the BIG APPLE

Last night, Monday December 8th was the celebration of former PSU Runningback Curt Warner being inducted into the College Football Hall Of Fame. Now beyond all the praise and glory this man got I was mostly impressed with the food and drink selection. Before I go on I have to say it really is an honor to be a part of such a traditional program that consistently produces first class players every year. Okay so last night was like the prime time of networking and meeting up with former teammates etc. 1st off I was not expecting Coach Joe to be in attendance, but he was there gave a small speech and was funny as usual. When I walked in I picked up my name tag off the desk out front and placed it on my shirt. I had no idea it was a "rule" to have the name tag on the left side of your body because it's more visible when shaking hands. Me being the ass that I am, I wouldn't say my name when being social but just pointed to the name tag. I mean what else are they for lol. Not knowing many people there I headed straight to the back bar. Ordered two drinks off the bat because I had showed up late and had to mix in with the crowd asap. The food there was phenomenal with sliced tuna and honey gazed ham so I was in heaven. It's not usual you are able to attend such a cool event for free in NYC, so I had to take full advantage.
I was amazed at how many former players lived in the city. After talking to a handful of people we all decided we need to keep this family connected so some were considering making a facebook group. We'd be able to set more events and get togethers since we all have something in common and live so close to each other. I love these types of events because I'm always the young one there and people are always interested in the new comers to the real world and thankfully for me I love to be social and talk about all the cool things I've been doing. I really hope to keep these connections going so we all can go out and just get drunk and have fun lol. In time I'll grow up and say lets all go to an apple picking event or something, but for now I'll keep on playing hard while I can.
Tomorrow I'll be talking about the bowl game coming up for New Years day in Orlando, so stay tuned =)...K BYEEEEEEEEEE

Another weekend of Liiiiiiife

Well the time is here for these guys. The Secaucus Patriots Football team has made it to the big game. Playing in Giant Stadium tonight will be a great experience for all these young dudes and I'm happy for them all. I wish I could just tell them all to cherish this evening and play your asses off. As for me I will be at Giants Stadium twice this weekend. Once tonight for the Secaucus game and again on Sunday for the Giants game vs the Cowboys. Again as I mentioned before, I'm not a die hard fan of any team but I will root for the home team of course. What makes things interesting this time is that I will be joined with a die hard Cowboys fan. These types of games are great because you can rub it in if their team does bad and if my team f*%#s up, I clearly won't care because I"M NOT A TRUE FAN lol. These weekends are just continually going to get better as the months go on, with more events and functions so i'll be keeping myself pretty occupied. Well at least until I start school again in March. As for Sunday evening we all know i'll be snuggled up with my cat for Animation Domination & will know where I will be going for New Years this year when the Bowl Selection airs. I feel like the reason i can't sleep besides the brain disorder "acute insomnia" is because I just have so much to do and so much to look forward to. There's a bright future ahead and I've got my wings open and ready to fly baby FLY! hahaha. I hope everyone has a great weekend AND i intend on posting a video soon from my new Mac Book because it's by far the best electronic device I have ever owned. K BYEEEEEEEE

Everybody clap yo' hands...ch ch ch ch ch ch

Hands down Tuesday December Foist 2009 was one of my favorite days of liiiiiife. It started off with me heading over to the Apple Store on 59th and as it is always crowded the work crew had seemed to be ready for my arrival. I walked in head high after doing all my research and knowing exactly what I wanted. My first words were “I want a 15” Mac Book Pro and I want it now” Without hesitation we walked over to the laptop stand and began the purchasing process. Now with all the time and budgeting that was put into it, I had made a mistake. The program I wanted to add was what I thought to be $300. What I didn’t realize is that I searched for the upgrade of the original program which costs $1,000. A little bit of a set back but I’m in no rush for that as of right now. The Mac Book is primarily for editing the documentary which I will be continuing to film up until April 2010. So there you go, I was a happy ass bLaCk kid just skipping along the streets of NYC with my new purchase.
Obviously my day didn’t end there. My mom and I like to take time after a long day and grab a drink or dinner, so we get to see each other during the week with our very different schedules and all. So we went to Pershing Square after work and had some dinner. This great/amazing woman goes ahead and whips out these Knicks tickets for last night’s game. Going off track a little bit I have to mention that I can tell she’s my mother because no 1 else is on that type of level with such randomness and especially on a Tuesday evening. Anyway we took a cab down to MSG and went to our seats. The game was pretty much packed because the Suns had the best record in the league as of last night. Let me tell you, this game was amazing. I’m not really a hardcore fan of any sports team but in bball I know the Knicks so of course I rooted for them. This team just kicked ass and it was so entertaining and so fun.
It’s things like this that make me appreciate my life and the people in it soooooo much and I really have the greatest time, and that is why I only surround myself with people who can keep my mood in the green. Haha just a regular Tuesday night of my liiiiiife, it would be hard to find a 12th person that I could hang with hahaha but I’m set with my people. Anyways enjoy your Wednesday all readers…I gotta go play with my Mac Book!!!! K BYEEEEEEEEEE
