Relaxation does the body GOOOOOD

So here I am down in Orlando just kickin it to the maximum. I got down here on Monday morning and from the airport went straight to the rent-a-car place. Prior to my arrival we had set a reservation for a mid-size car. When I got to the place they made me sign the agreements and law contracts blah blah blah, which I don't think anyone really reads. I was just anxious to pick out what car i'd be driving. Outside in front there where 4 cars lined up, all supposedly mid size cars. When we were walking towards the lot, the man had pointed out this bright fruity colored Toyota Corolla. My initial reaction was "are you kidding me" hahaha. He asked if i wanted to upgrade and I was sure as hell not driving the blue fruit loop. The man told me the Charger was an extra $100 so I had to calm down and accept the fact that the Blue Beast was a mid-size car. I took it off the lot and then proceeded to PSU's practice. After telling some of the guys on the team i'd be rolling up in a drop top or something flashy, I had to hear the 30 seconds worth of jokes when meeting up with some of the guys but so what lol, we all got a good laugh.

I just realized this morning that NYE is coming up in just one day. I haven't even made any new years plans yet, but thinking about it this entire year has been crazy and went by wayyy too fast. Time will fly when you are having fun, and that is exactly what I have been doing this past year. Who knows what will come next? all I know is what I have planned and I know exactly what I have to do to get there. Faith, hope, and determination will be the main surges of energy of course.

Momma Bintz arrives tomorrow so I can't wait for that so I have someone to hang with down here and to get my first win in Monopoly vs. her lol...I'll be back on this mofo before the game hopefully =) HAVE A GREAT AND SAFE NEW YEARS EVERYONE.....K BYEEEEEEEE

Praise your team =)

I’ve watched sports my entire life. Football, basketball, baseball and even wrestling were amongst my favorite. After growing up glued to the t.v. I have never found a team/athlete to admire and root for. I have all the love in the world for sports but could never get into it as much as some others. This past year (2009) I have been to more games than any other year of my life. Never was there a time where I would go all out as to purchasing a t-shirt or even screaming at the top of my lungs for an athlete. In any case I would always root for my friends and teammates back in high school and college but of course you are supposed to root for your own team. It’s crazy how dedicated some fans are, even though they boo players when they’re having a bad game they are still loyal to their teams.
This past spring when the recession was getting to be really bad I met a man who was laid off from a bank. Even though he had a kid and wife to take care of, he was so committed to keeping his Yankee season tickets. Now of course when you live in NYC any person would be smart enough to sell the tickets to help out the household. But not this guy, he told me he has been going to games since he was a little kid and those tickets were something he was never going to give up. I admired the passion of course, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. I think people are born into being a fan of a team. When I was growing up my mother was always a 49ers fan so I tried getting into that team and will still claim today “49ers are my favorite team” but it’s not true at all lol.
When parents teach their kids sports they will have them watch a certain team and a kid will pick up on that enthusiasm and dedication. It is sad to me sometimes because I have seen friends of mine suffer an entire weekend or even the Monday at work because their team lost. I can’t be bitter and say “grow up” to these people because I’ve never been involved with a team like that. I admire the fact that I am different in that case because you may not realize it but it saves a hell of a lot of money when you’re not committed to a team. Summing up all this, I just want to say I mostly admire the sports atmosphere with exciting plays, rivalries, upsets ect. Never will I go home unsatisfied after watching two teams compete because it is worth being in that environment with a few beers and $15 sandwiches at hand.

Can you feel it in the Air? It's time for a Jingle or 2

Christmas is right around the corner...yippy! No no I really don't care too much about the holidays. I'm not against it in any way but I can't remember the last time I was involved with the "Christmas Spirit". For the past couple of years my holidays were either spent at a restaurant with my beautiful mother or being on the road for a bowl game. It's not something I avoid, but I really don't see the purpose of decorating an apartment when you live alone. Between the lights and tree and the thingy on the front door, it's just a waste of time for me. I actually like the fact that i'm so different to the point where it's not a tradition to decorate and do the whole opening gifts under the tree gig. In the future if I have a family and stuff i will be new to the whole experience again. I remember Christmases when I was a little kid in North Carolina and my entire family would be at the same house all awaiting that morning. I was the only member who would be an ass and be awake at 3am just scurrying through the gifts looking for my name on presents and just opening them on my own terms. I would then after go drink the milk and cookies and claim I shared them with Santa Claus haha. I know this year Momma Bintz and I will choose to go to a fancy restaurant and just have a meal and maybe catch a movie, possibly a chick flick which I'll suffer through for the holiday cheer cause.
If I can say anything to everyone I would encourage all to enjoy that time with your family and friends and don't let the holiday season be an excuse to bring everyone together. I know that I'll be happy once I get down to Florida and cruise around in a convertible to extend my dream season and top it off with a nice New Years and a PSU win.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!! K BYYYYEEEEEEEEE

Take it Or Leave it...

Okay, so it is now Wednesday and this week has been going extremely slow. Probably because it has been a busy one and I've been trying to fix up my apartment a little bit. I wanna get right into this because I still have some more shiznit to do this evening. Anyway, two weeks ago I received a call from someone I didn't know who asked for me by my full name. At first I thought I was in some trouble because whenever someone asks for you saying your full name, you tend to think something is wrong. It was a friend of a friend who wanted to talk some business aka "showbiz". Immediately I got real defensive saying "who are you and how the F did you get my number" blah blah. I calmed down since I knew it was a call that was 2 important for an email. At this point in my day I was surprised to receive such a call and what the situation dealt with. After about a 20 minute conversation I texted my 11 friends asking what they thought about my opportunity. Even though I had my final decision in mind , I still wanted opinions from the people closest to me. For the most part they had some great feedback. I really appreciate the support I get from these people cause they're effing awesome.
I just felt like writing this blog because I've been having convos with people about their opportunities and options lately. What I tell them is that opportunities come daily, and they could change your life for better or for worse. In my case I declined something that would have taken me on a completely different route then the one I want to be on. Everyone has the freedom to do what they want, so when people say "i'm stuck here and I hate my job" nobody is holding you back BUT always weigh out the options if indeed you decide to jump at an opportunity. This all didn't make much sense but to me it does to me and it's been 4 days since I posted something so uhhhh there ya go =)

Tomorrow I'll be talking about the holiday season and how I'm just not a part of it haha K BYYYEEEEEEEEEE

Florida, The bLaCk will be back

After a long wait, it is settled. PSU will be playing LSU in the 2010 Capital One Bowl on New Years day in Orlando, Florida. I can't go on and make predictions about the game because I have no idea what kind of talent LSU has, so i'll leave that to the experts. All I can say is that they are an SEC team which means they are very very fast. I wish they guys good luck and especially to the seniors in their last college game. As for me it will be the last game I get to film DC in a blue & white uniform, well unless he gets drafted by the Colts but y'all know what I mean. So this game takes place on New Years day, and for a party guy like myself I don't think i'll be out on New Years Eve sadly. A few weeks back I made my rule that I can't hang out anywhere unless 1 of the 11 homies are with me. I don't think any of them will be down in Florida so I'll stay home and watch the ball drop with the family. I'm real glad to be having the game in Orlando because I have a place to stay and i'm familiar with the area because i've been to the Capital One game many years ago as an N.C. State recruit.
I'll be flying down on the 28th and returning to the city on Jan 4th. so that little bit of heat for a while will be good for keeping the even skin tone and letting me wear my shorts n t-shirts outside. I still have a little bit of kid in me so i'll definitely be hitting up Disney for a day or 2 while down there and also be kickin it at City Walk. Until then this 22 degree weather will just continue to make my skin ashy and dry lol. Anyway it is Friday and i'll go off and be productive with my Liiiiiife. I'll catch the readers back on Monday soo ummmm K BYEEEEEE

Hall Of Fame Event=Free drinks/food in the BIG APPLE

Last night, Monday December 8th was the celebration of former PSU Runningback Curt Warner being inducted into the College Football Hall Of Fame. Now beyond all the praise and glory this man got I was mostly impressed with the food and drink selection. Before I go on I have to say it really is an honor to be a part of such a traditional program that consistently produces first class players every year. Okay so last night was like the prime time of networking and meeting up with former teammates etc. 1st off I was not expecting Coach Joe to be in attendance, but he was there gave a small speech and was funny as usual. When I walked in I picked up my name tag off the desk out front and placed it on my shirt. I had no idea it was a "rule" to have the name tag on the left side of your body because it's more visible when shaking hands. Me being the ass that I am, I wouldn't say my name when being social but just pointed to the name tag. I mean what else are they for lol. Not knowing many people there I headed straight to the back bar. Ordered two drinks off the bat because I had showed up late and had to mix in with the crowd asap. The food there was phenomenal with sliced tuna and honey gazed ham so I was in heaven. It's not usual you are able to attend such a cool event for free in NYC, so I had to take full advantage.
I was amazed at how many former players lived in the city. After talking to a handful of people we all decided we need to keep this family connected so some were considering making a facebook group. We'd be able to set more events and get togethers since we all have something in common and live so close to each other. I love these types of events because I'm always the young one there and people are always interested in the new comers to the real world and thankfully for me I love to be social and talk about all the cool things I've been doing. I really hope to keep these connections going so we all can go out and just get drunk and have fun lol. In time I'll grow up and say lets all go to an apple picking event or something, but for now I'll keep on playing hard while I can.
Tomorrow I'll be talking about the bowl game coming up for New Years day in Orlando, so stay tuned =)...K BYEEEEEEEEEE

Another weekend of Liiiiiiife

Well the time is here for these guys. The Secaucus Patriots Football team has made it to the big game. Playing in Giant Stadium tonight will be a great experience for all these young dudes and I'm happy for them all. I wish I could just tell them all to cherish this evening and play your asses off. As for me I will be at Giants Stadium twice this weekend. Once tonight for the Secaucus game and again on Sunday for the Giants game vs the Cowboys. Again as I mentioned before, I'm not a die hard fan of any team but I will root for the home team of course. What makes things interesting this time is that I will be joined with a die hard Cowboys fan. These types of games are great because you can rub it in if their team does bad and if my team f*%#s up, I clearly won't care because I"M NOT A TRUE FAN lol. These weekends are just continually going to get better as the months go on, with more events and functions so i'll be keeping myself pretty occupied. Well at least until I start school again in March. As for Sunday evening we all know i'll be snuggled up with my cat for Animation Domination & will know where I will be going for New Years this year when the Bowl Selection airs. I feel like the reason i can't sleep besides the brain disorder "acute insomnia" is because I just have so much to do and so much to look forward to. There's a bright future ahead and I've got my wings open and ready to fly baby FLY! hahaha. I hope everyone has a great weekend AND i intend on posting a video soon from my new Mac Book because it's by far the best electronic device I have ever owned. K BYEEEEEEEE

Everybody clap yo' hands...ch ch ch ch ch ch

Hands down Tuesday December Foist 2009 was one of my favorite days of liiiiiife. It started off with me heading over to the Apple Store on 59th and as it is always crowded the work crew had seemed to be ready for my arrival. I walked in head high after doing all my research and knowing exactly what I wanted. My first words were “I want a 15” Mac Book Pro and I want it now” Without hesitation we walked over to the laptop stand and began the purchasing process. Now with all the time and budgeting that was put into it, I had made a mistake. The program I wanted to add was what I thought to be $300. What I didn’t realize is that I searched for the upgrade of the original program which costs $1,000. A little bit of a set back but I’m in no rush for that as of right now. The Mac Book is primarily for editing the documentary which I will be continuing to film up until April 2010. So there you go, I was a happy ass bLaCk kid just skipping along the streets of NYC with my new purchase.
Obviously my day didn’t end there. My mom and I like to take time after a long day and grab a drink or dinner, so we get to see each other during the week with our very different schedules and all. So we went to Pershing Square after work and had some dinner. This great/amazing woman goes ahead and whips out these Knicks tickets for last night’s game. Going off track a little bit I have to mention that I can tell she’s my mother because no 1 else is on that type of level with such randomness and especially on a Tuesday evening. Anyway we took a cab down to MSG and went to our seats. The game was pretty much packed because the Suns had the best record in the league as of last night. Let me tell you, this game was amazing. I’m not really a hardcore fan of any sports team but in bball I know the Knicks so of course I rooted for them. This team just kicked ass and it was so entertaining and so fun.
It’s things like this that make me appreciate my life and the people in it soooooo much and I really have the greatest time, and that is why I only surround myself with people who can keep my mood in the green. Haha just a regular Tuesday night of my liiiiiife, it would be hard to find a 12th person that I could hang with hahaha but I’m set with my people. Anyways enjoy your Wednesday all readers…I gotta go play with my Mac Book!!!! K BYEEEEEEEEEE

And guess when I heard that, when I was back home

4 days of eating drinking and living liiiiiife. My Thanksgiving weekend was freakin great; I had entirely too much fun lol. I spent a lot of time with old friends from Secaucus “hometown” peoples. Things really haven’t changed much since my departure but I think it’s for the best with the comfort zone of being home for a brotha like me. Things got kind of awkward when folks were asking for my phone number and if I changed it and all but I said “it’s hard to do your thing when everyone is surrounding” just meaning that I don’t need to be bombarded with random texts and calls that can be distracting from my work. It’s not being offensive at all, but there are just some people I don’t feel like talking to haha.
The only thing I hate about the long binge drinking weekend is the impact it does on the body once reality hits again. For some reason my hangovers wont kick in until I actually need to do something productive. There is a positive outcome from the consecutive nights of partying…I get to sleep! And that doesn’t happen on a regular night with prescribed medicines. Now I’m not the kind of person who will purposely destroy my liver in order to rest, so what do I do? I read and write and try to learn something new on my sleepless nights.
Real quick, I wanna talk about my Sunday afternoon. I headed down to the East Village in order to get some lunch at one of my favorite cafes (7A) which was lovely lol. After the meal I wanted to find a hat that I could purchase to cover my bald head. I walked for approximately 2-3 miles in a frantic search. I stopped in over 10 stores and found nothing I liked. I’m not the fashion expert so I needed to make a few phone calls for some help, so next time I go shopping I’ll have an expert rollin with me haha. Well well, it’s time for my bLaCkA$$ to get back on the grind of working on these projects. It’s My LIIIIIIIIIFE of having fun & working hard and I don’t accept anything less. I’ll be blogging about something random tomorrow so stay tuned…K BYEEEEEEEEEE

FRIENDS, how many of us have them?

How many of us have them? I feel like everyone has their own take with what a friend is, and so do I. Let me just set the record straight right quick, I respect everyone even if I don’t like them very much or they don’t like me. Doing a recent reality check-up on myself, I locked down my circle of friends/homies/peoples or whatever you want to call it. Now the reason I did this is because I have found myself being in situations where I hate being somewhere and it’s because I’m not rollin with someone from my “Favorites List” on my phone. Like most people, I have set personal rules so now what I decided to do is only be out n’ about with at least 1 of my 11 friends lol. It may sound corny and all but I really don’t care because a friend to me (only child) is like a sibling of mine and I would do technically anything for them. I’m pretty sure these people I speak of know who they are.
I am aware I could come off to some people as a dickhead because I refuse to give out my number to most. But seriously I hate that awkward convo when it’s like “hey, give me your number and we’ll hang sometime” I mean come on, obviously that’s never gonna happen and when someone has your number and they call out of the blue its like knocking on a door that has to be opened hahaha. Another reason I’m talking about this is because these friends of mine have put up with me in one or more of my worst conditions while either having too much to drink or just being in a miserable mood and they honestly deserve an award for putting up with a tough cookie like me.
Keeping a tight crew is something I feel really strong about and these guys know it, when I have some more time I’ll come up with all new nick names for the 11 mofos just because I feel like it. That’s about all for today, hopefully gonna continue this excellent mood for the remainder of this short week K BYEEEEEE

I have made it back home. It wasn’t even two weeks that I was away but it felt longer than that. I was missing the buildings, cabs, snobby upper east siders and of course Frenzy Benz. Now I have returned to my happy place, my liiiiife. This past weekend was hilarious so me and Dan aka The Whitemaiin made a fun video to show the type of random shenanigans that goes down when I’m in town. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xI3iUFLmPEw Anyway, what will go down this coming week?…well of course I have to hang out with my beautiful mother and grab some dinner in a fancy restaurant “Michael Jordan Steakhouse” cause that’s what we do lol. I’ll probably be under the radar this week while staying in the office attempting to write and edit some stuff, but I want to be ready for New Moon later this week. Being the cool person that I am, I got invited to the screening of the film before it hits theaters on friday but denied my ticket so I can re-unite with an old friend on Friday to see it in the new Secaucus theaters.
I have no idea where this Twilight obsession came from, but I guess the wolfs and vampires battling provides a large amount of entertainment for me. I was in a bookstore last week and seriously almost purchased 3 books from the saga, but came to my senses and proceeded to the coloring book section.
By the way I just wanted to thank everyone for their hospitality these past couple of weeks while I was in PA, and if you guys read this you know who you are I really appreciate it. There’s really nothing else to talk about for now so I hope you guys enjoy the video and I’ll get back on this motha fcuka very soon…have a good week everyone.

Encore...do you want more!?

Well well, the Penn State football season is coming to an end which means a large portion of the film is coming to a close. This coming weekend is Senior Day at beaver stadium which is the last home game for all the seniors on the squad. It's a moment for tears and celebration of making it through the collegiate athletic career. My senior day was a dud because I didn't get my proper send off but i'll stay away from that topic haha. For my man DC I wish him all the best for this game so he can excite the crowd one last time. Occasionally i'll read peoples status's criticizing and saying that the season is already over because of 2 losses and what not but it's just something to laugh about because these people have no clue on what they're talking about so I suggest they just stick to what they do and know pleasth.

Enough of the madness from me but I'm so glad my great friend and former roommate gave me the opportunity to film his final season and path to the NFL draft because it gives me a chance to learn and show others what it takes to be a successful quarterback in the spotlight. I am curious to see what bowl game the team will make it to this year because of course I will be there and it will be another "mini" vacation for my blackass =). This last weekend at PSU for me will be a good one and I hope to make the best of it because for the next couple months I will be on the road constantly doing my freelance work and filming more of DC training for his next step. I can't speak for the kid but trust me this documentary will be something completely different, and if you know me well enough you can't even begin to imagine what we have in store for the viewers.

Anyway I just want to say Good Luck with this last home game and for the futures of the seniors and my former teammates and whupp some Hoosier ass and then tell em Hoosier' daddy haha. A little corny but who cares. K Byyyyyyyeeeeee

Transformers...robots in disguise

This is going a little over board but I have to admit I'm hooked on Transformers. Every single location I have been in the last 3 weeks, that movie has been around and I can't help but to watch it 3-4 times. I know, I know it's sad because I use quotes from the movie 24-7 and before I go in the shower I act like I transform or something haha. Well the shower thing isn't 100% true but honestly I believe it has taken the #2 spot on my all-time movie list. Swingers remains #1.
Okay, I just wanted to get that out of my system. I'm currently stationed in Harrisburg PA until this coming Friday. The past 2 days I will wake up at a decent hour, cook breakfast and just get to work on the cartoon and my other "secret" project which I guarantee will blow some minds. Speaking of the cartoon and my blog I have come to notice that there are some very quiet followers and it's cool that so many different people see what I'm doing. Saying that, I found it quite interesting that a representative from Comedy Central was interested in the cartoon idea. Now believe it or not I'm a very bright kid and know how to patten ideas and make sure no one can steal my work. Mommy is a lawyer :) so the legal aspect of everything is on lock down. Apparently people that I've met in the past had conversations and somehow my name was brought up about the fresh creative minds in the NYC area. Putting all of this together I have networked myself ever since I was a little baby standing tall amongst boys and took my standout appearance and creativity, then BOOM sparks are created. Not being cocky at all but I'm kind of a big deal, at least to the people that matter for my career sake. Anyway I received an e-mail today from this Comedy Central rep talking about setting up a meeting blah blah blah. So at foist I'm like hells yes lets do this but, I paused and thought "I'm no where near ready to pitch anything yet" I'm a perfectionist and will have to re-read re-write so many things before anything gets released into the media market. It's like that hot girl in high school who is playing hard to get. On the outside the shell is amazing and you just want to get inside.....sorry i don't wanna get dirty on y'all but that's exactly what I'm doing. I'll play as hard as I can because only those close to me know how much heart and effort I put into my work and I'll be damned to settle for the first thing that comes along and screws up my projects.
Soooo...what do I do, set up a "social drinking meeting" where I'll have the upper hand with a public atmosphere and jeans. I'm not ready for this suit look yet haha cause I don't wanna blow anyone away with my seductive looks. I know that my name is buzzing out there and I will keep it buzzing with my random rants, facebook & twitter to keep the mofo's entertained for the time being. But when that time hits I'm goin harder than a 75 year old man who took 4 Viagra hahaha

I'll be blogging again tomorrow to talk about the films progression and Sr. Day coming up "sniff sniff" so stay tuned pleasth...K BYEEEEE

I'm takin off on the road, tell everybody that you know

Packing up the Camry and getting on the road (again). I said I was moving to another location, but I’m not permanently moving anywhere just going away for a couple of weeks to film these last 2 games of the regular season. I thought about going up to PSU on Thursday for the weekend and just driving back home and driving back up again for Sr. Day but that is just extra gas $, mileage, and 8 additional hours on the ole Cam. Thankfully I have some cool friends that will put up with me in the mean time. I considered staying at PSU the entire time but the parking situation would be completely annoying, so I decided to stay with a friend in Harrisburg which is only an hour 30 away from campus so that will be an easier task. There is a negative to me being on the road again, Frenzy Benz will be left behind =(. Every time I leave I notice the attitude change in my cat, like him ignoring me for the first couple of days we reunite to emotionally punish me lol. In time we rekindle our relationship and it’s all good. Wow I’m really obsessed with my cat hahaha.

Oh yes, our first day of staff writing for the cartoon begins on Wednesday evening which should be fun. This will be the time where I have other characters on the show throw in their ideas and opinions on what I’ve created so far. In recent reviews of what I worked on, some have said it’s a mixture of Seinfeld/Family Guy humor & that is exactly what I’m going for. I’m still working on getting this project into a comic book series which becoming a little difficult, but eventually I’ll find a way. Well that’s about it for now, some more random blogs will be posted more frequently now since I’ll have more time to think and ramble on about something. Until next time, take care pleasth.

Goodbye 9 to 5...It's time to ROLL OUT

Well well well…It’s been a while but these last couple weeks have been real busy for a brotha. It was time for me to take matters into my own hands after thinking real long and hard (lol) and put my skills to the test so what did I do? Oh yes I turned in my resignation and began to take advantage of my knowledge and connections and take a shot at this entrepreneur thing. BLACKMAIIN PRODUCTIONS is getting ready to mobilize. This is like being the captain of a team all over again except I’m comfortable now more than ever because the entire team was recruited by me. What struck me as being the biggest boost for this career move was how I was raised. As an only child being raised by a single mother, it leaves a very short time in your life to grow up and become a man. You can ask anyone else that has been in those shoes, it can be very hard without a male figure teaching you the right moves and decisions to make in the early stages of liiiiiife. I honor, love, and respect my mother so much because I think she has done a hell of a job raising me, and has always let me make my own decisions. Of course I’ve made mistakes along the road dating back to when I was seven years old but I have learned from each and every one of them and it has put me in the great position I am in today. Now at the age of 23 I have made the 3rd toughest decision so far in life and throwing in all the marbles and I’ve never felt better or more motivated. Of course the “DC 17 Film” and “4103” are the first two of three projects we will be working on. The 3rd is yet to be announced but I can assure you it’s one to wait for haha. I really do appreciate my co-workers, friends and family for their support when I broke the news to them last week. I always have to thank the people who are/were negative towards me but my same new favorite line goes to those people “YOU’LL NEVER STOP AT ONE, I’LL TAKE YOU ALL ON” hahaha. Well then, giddy up and turn the page because a new chapter is ready to begin. I always said there are a shit load of ideas and creativity in this bald head of mine, and it’s about time I put it on display in a timely manner…LET’S ROLL

I'm bLaCk, black in the New York grooooooove

Finally, I’m back in the regular shwing of things. I wonder how long it will take me to recover from the west coast time zone and to get back on good terms with my cat, who I feel like I haven’t seen for month’s lol. Being in California for a week then flying straight to PSU can definitely drain a person but it’s exactly how I planned events and I refuse to ever complain about my liiiiiiifestyle. Homecoming weekend got a little out of hand on my part haha. After functioning on a different schedule and then trying to get back into college lifestyle for a few days, WOW. Even though I miss those good ol’ days where the after parties was a definite spot to be I just said “it’s time for bed” so I guess I lost a little bit of that spark after being out of school for over a year.

Last week I had posted a comment on Facebook, asking if it was weird to introduce yourself to a person you were Internet friends with, but never met them personally. It was just a random question because I know a lot of people are shy and hide behind their computer screens and status updates and stuff. I am just the exact opposite and I took it upon myself to go about this personal challenge lol. While in the club Sat night I asked a friend to approach a girl whose face I recognized so I can actually meet her. NOW, before this makes it seem bad I had it very well planned…

1) I asked a friend of mine, who everyone could recognized him (& u can probably guess who I’m talking about) 2 approach the girl

2) I told my boy to point me out first and mention that I already knew her name through facebookbutt so it was a clear that was the reason for the convo

3) And last I pulled this move off in a public place so it wouldn’t come off as awkward like in an alley way or outside a public bathroom

So, I had thought I approached the situation rather well, turns out the girl was real rude and just didn’t wanna shake my hand or nothing and it wasn’t like I was even trying to hit on her or anything like that. Just a simple introduction and maybe another person I could spark up a convo with. Turns out she was more interested in the friend of mine who I asked to go up to her, but you win some & you lose some.

Anyway, I doubt my attitude will ever change so if I see someone I recognize you better bet your ass if I don’t know you and I’m in a talking mood you’ll get a visit from the Blackmaiin ;). These next two weeks require no traveling which is excellent but many meetings and cool work stuff will be taking place…HA! I was just completely lying, ill be very busy these next couple of days so look for another post around Thursday pleasth…K BYEEEEEEEEEE

Any Similarity to Persons Living or Dead Is Purely Coincidental -- Except my show is clearly about PSU Liiiiiife =)

It’s about that time now to get back on track with the basics of “4103”. Most of the time I have spent working on this project has been developing episodes for the first season. Meanwhile all of the basic development ideas have been in the back of my mind, such as a setting, name of the school we attend etc. I’ve been in touch with former roommates/teammates to help with ideas recently and all of them have contributed with some funny ass ideas. This project is definitely going to take a while before I’ll ever release it only because I want it to be as close to perfect as possible. This isn’t an assignment that has a particular due date, so I have time to screw up and go back and fix mistakes instead of pitching a show that doesn’t make sense to executives or even myself. I got a chance to do an interview with the collegian news paper and for the 1st time talk about my cartoon development outside of my group of friends and colleagues. http://www.collegian.psu.edu/archive/2009/10/10/mag_teaser1_story.aspx
There is such a long process for developing a show and maintaining it, so even when a show isn’t very good, there still has been a shit load of work put into each and every episode made and I respect that aspect of it. In my case for developing this show is that it’s all me and only me as of now working on this project. This stage I believe is called the “development stage” so the pin-point ideas are being modified before I continue on with writing episodes because that’s the fun part of all this. I was thinking of doing a short comic book series online for the first few episodes of the show, just to give a taste of what kind of ideas I’m working with ova heah. Well for now that’s all I have to say about that.

PS. I love it out here in California but I will be at PSU for homecoming weekend to continue filming for the documentary and getting back together with old schoolmates for fun party times.

Everywhere you look...

The dream continues on for the kid. After a long 4 day week I decided to take a day off to just recover mentally and not do any type of work, so I locked out the e-mails and put the phone away so no one can disturb my peace of mind. This will last for about 35-45 minutes lol. This is my last week as NJ/NY(er) before I fly out to SAN FRANCISCO next Thursday to expand my fan base and kick it west coast style. What will happen when I arrive is not known yet but of course the camera will be on hand and a few sets will be visited. Today is one of those "me time" days, so I decided to hit up the spa and get a nice Swedish massage and maybe go swimming for a little bit at the pool just to express how much I want to unwind...this is the LIIIIIIFE of a boss and I just wanted to express that =D. When will I return? no one knows, but of course I have to work and that's always a buzz kill towards the end of a trip. In my case it's all peachy though cause like Missy Elliot says "we run this" and yupp that's about it...I hope everyone has a great weekend and I want to say goodbye to all the people I won't see before my departure

Oh yea duhhh, I'll be at PSU for homecoming so someone might want to get me from the Toftrees airport on the 16th pleasth lol

I'm goin in for the kill, I'm doin it for a thrill

Iowa beat PSU in a disgusting fashion, big whupp you wanna fight about it lol. Ight so they won and now its over with, time to look ahead. I'm looking forward to this week anyway because it's my last full week as an east coast blackmaiin but I don't wanna jump 2 far ahead in liiiiife just yet. By the end of this week I get to bring the editing studio home to me so we can start developing the trailer for the film. As some people know I have developed my first cavity in 23 years and it is very painful, but my stubborn ass is either 2 lazy or loves to be working so I keep cancelling my dentist appointments. That's just the way I live though, very unorthodox and it would be wrong to change my style up so i'll just suffer for a little bit longer haha. This week doesn't have any real fun in store just a simple daily routine until Thursday but I will be taking off on Friday because I wanna chill with my people and my momma bintz before I go bye bye and also see my high school team play this weekend which should be interesting. Well that's about it, have a great week readers...stay tuned for another post on Wednesday or Thursday of this week pleasth....k byeeeeeeeeee
Oh yea here's the article that came out a few weeks ago if you missed it

If you can't do it, WATCH ME :)

People have been asking me the past couple of days “Hey Black what in the world is Hollywood Week” well ill tell ya what it is. Hollywood week is something a few friends and I came up with a couple of months ago. Since we can’t just fly out to California and live that cool lifestyle, why not bring it to NYC. A small crew of out goers decided to paint the town every night after work is over this week from Monday through Thursday hitting up some exclusive clubs, lounges, events, and cap it off with the U2 concert on Thursday. This weeks episode of liiiiife may seem corny to a lot but only a select few can pull it off. Since we all have that “celebrity” look were just going to take advantage of it because it’s doable and fun at that. I mean if you don’t know who I am but u see a large black man in a fresh suit with a tall beautiful blonde your first thought will be “is that seal” lol but no its just your neighborhood friendly blackmaiin. This week has been planned for a while so wherever we decide to go out for a meal or a few drinks we have friendships with owners or workers at the establishments and have made it cool that we’ll be treated like VIP’s. I always say that I will never hold back and if something seems fun enough to do I will go through with it just to keep that smile on my face glowing. So stay alert for the new guy in town by the name of Roddamus Setterstrom aka my alter ego hahaha…and I cant wait until Friday to head back to PSU and watch them take on the Hawkeyes because payback is a biotch…I love u all and stay tuned ladies and gents, the bLaCk will be back

bLaCk & bRoWn reunite in Pittsburgh

It's been a while since I got to post up something on the blog. I am "not allowed" to be on certain sites during the work day but I will defeat the system lmao. Anyways on Wednesday afternoon I'll be flying out to Pittsburgh PA to film some more of the Documentary and see my former roommate/ future co-star Dontey Brown play with the Cal U Vulcans on Saturday. It's amazing how this kid is playing in his 6th year of college but it's great cause he is a hell of a player. If you guys didnt know, me and Tey had our last adventure in Las Vegas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjY6KTrqelk but now its time for some new material and new ideas to hit the web for our peoples laughing pleasure. He of course lived in the apartment with Dan, Daryll and I back in college so we all have major roles in the film. I'm keeping the comedic edge in tact because I like trying something different ova heahh. The days have been becoming shorter and shorter with the more work I've been putting into my projects but I am determined that it will all show by the time I'm finished...Ohhhh and my Kickball team is now 1-0, we defeated our opponents 23-3 and the Blackmaiin went 4-4 which is pretty decent for the debut I think so stay tuned because next week has a lot to offer with Hip Hop Honors and U2 concert and of course back up to PSU vs Iowabutts...

Express Yo'Self

Do it till you’re satisfied…whether it’s art, music, working out, doing crazy things, or just filming something…everyone needs that vent to express themselves in some way. I was itching like a fiend for the past few weeks to get back behind my miniature camera and film more of the documentary. If all is wrong and I’m in a bad mood, the flipping open the camera and clicking the record button can erase any problems I got on my mind. I imagine that is how anyone feels when they’re in the groove of doing what they love to do. This weekend was very fun and interesting for me. I had no idea people were paying attention to these projects I’ve been working on but I really do appreciate the support from peeps in the world of liiiiiiife. The people that know me personally know I am and always will be about having fun (unless you smudge my new $25 sneakers lmao) but the motivation people give me “love or hate” makes me work harder and harder. The work hard, play hard mentality is exactly what my life has been about for the past few months and there is nothing and I mean NOTHING that will slow me down J…Next week I get to fly out to Pittsburgh and do some filming for the movie and of course I cant wait for that because I’ll be reunited with my future tv show Co-Host Dontey Brown…so who knows what’s in store for that random week hahaha

I don't sleep, looks like I have to live my dreamsth

Counting sheep, sitting in the steam room, late night walks, watching paid programming…insomnia is a biotch and yes I said biotch. Having insomnia is no joke but it can be productive at times and I take advantage of this so called “brain disorder”. It gives me time to hangout with fellow night owls. Some nights I’ll take a little ride down to the midtown Apple store and kick it there along with some other 24-hour spots (diners, underground clubs, etc). It’s always interesting to spark up conversations with other people who don’t sleep or who work graveyard shifts. This city is great for me to live in so I can stay occupied and be influenced by all different types of people. After taking many different sorts of medications, it’s not even worth taking more and more and possibly ending up like a shmoe on my bedroom floor on a Tuesday morning, so I keep myself entertained. My new website Blackmaiin.com will hold videos of random late night adventures with the cities finest night owls so people can share their stories. I do love to keep busy with every moment my eyes are open. I know soon enough when I’m in Miami or LA I’ll have my time to relax and be relieved of any duties but until then this engine is full steam ahead…stay tuned for some more frequent blog updates and I hope I’m keep all the readers entertained…HOLLA BLACK!

Will The City Miss The Black Guy?

Ok, ok so the past 9 weekends I’ve been living it up in the city just causing mischief here and there, making new friends, clinging with old ones and just going about my semi-popular lifestyle. Now FOOTBALL SEASON is here and I think I need time to relax and go under the radar for the weekend because these next 5 months are going to be the busiest of my liiiiife. With the opportunity of having a lay low spot in Harrisburg Pa. I will be relaxing out there for a couple of days. It’ll be good to get some fresh air and not see buildings or cabs every other inch lol. Come next Monday The Blackmaiin will be back in full swing with a new attitude driven by a motor that can be matched by no man. It’s game time baby!!!

Vacation + recession = Staycation

When days are long… you’re in the office for countless hours staring at a computer screen… answering phones non stop just trying to enjoy a bagel, it’s time to look up and say “I need a vacation” its now the middle of August and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do. Im taking the next 3 days off to spend with my bestest female friend Jessica, who is also my cartoon animator. The last time we took a vacation was last December spending a couple days in LA for the Rose Bowl and NYE. It’s funny how we both work while talking via e-mail everyday, all day long lmao, but that’s what friends are for right? Now, even though we set up an itinerary for the next 5 days of liiiiiife I doubt we’ll stick to 50% of what’s planned. With both of us being in this working world for over a year, it’s time for a little breakbutt and I need to have my friends visit me or else ill lose what’s left of my mind…Stay tuned for some fashionable action from the Blackmaiin :)

Kickball Season Countdown...

The season begins on September 13th...6 games...Sunday nights....LIIIIIFE.

We had our social last night on the lower east side just to talk game plans, have a few drinks, and do a little bar trivia "which I'm not very good at" I really can't wait for this season to start because our team consists of all run down PSU athletes hahaha, which makes it fun that our school has a bond that is still connected years after college is over. Of course I'm the only black guy on the team :) so that gives us the "intimidation" factor over our opponents.

I recently went to my gym and asked a trainer to take me through a kickball workout, he stared at me and laughed "what the hell would be included in a kickball workout!?". He saw the serious look on my face and we immediately began doing kicks and leg exercises to get me into peak fitness before the season starts. When there's a sport I play I need to be physically and mentally ready. Of course I havent played since 5th grade on the Clarendon school basketball courts but times have changed since then, only Sep. 13th will show if the training is successful hahahaha....I'M READY TO GO!

Bar Tour...an attempt but NOT THIS TIME

This past weekend my boys and I tried going on a secaucus bar tour. We set up 28 places in our home town where we would have one drink and move along to the next bar. This event was a lot harder than expected. We did get through 16 of the 28 but we didn't finish so boo hoo. Being that we tried this on a Friday after work wasn't a smart idea because we were all tired to start off. We will be doing this challenge again next month hopefully, but adding in spots to eat and having it on a Saturday which will give us more time to accomplish this challenge. This coming weekend will call for a little downtime and a beach visit...I feel like I'm losing some blackness hahaha

Harrisburg comes to NYC

This weekend will be an exciting one. My college roommate and white friend Dan Lawlor and Co. will be visiting me. Were going to bring our college habits back to life, back to reality...it always feels good to have a week of hard work capped off by a group of friends getting together and just going nuts lol. Friday night will be spent in hoboken and Saturday is the day we hang out in the east village for some keg service.

We will be joined by other members of the elite team and some special black guests will be tagging along, so a force will be taking over the streets this weekend...I CAN'T WAIT TO UPLOAD PICTURES HAHAHAHA

I won't ever forget...

A lot of people may think that some things aren't possible and like to have doubts, those are the people that don't succeed and make excuses. On Wednesday, July 15th I got a few minutes to meet with Spike Lee and talk to him one on one about my film "The Time Is Now". Due to me being a businessman I won't go into direct details but I can say that I planted the seed and that's what matters. It's not all about who you know, it's about who knows you as well and I am an enforcer so that makes an impression. I don't think there is anyone my age who will ever have the guts and determination to set up a meeting with such a big shot. That's the spirit and passion for my goals I was born with and with every step I take it makes me feel the urge to push and work harder because I have that self motivation...anyway it was an awesome experience and the filming/editing has been going along quite well.

Things are going great, and it's only getting better

It's been a busy couple of weeks for me. Just this past weekend I spent fourth of July in Youngstown Ohio where we got a chance to film for 3 days and got to party with the Clark family. It was an interesting experience for me but very exciting. I get chills every time I turn on the camera and hit that record button. We expect this film to be done in mid March before the NFL Draft. I just want to thank my production team for sticking with me through this adventure. I believe I recruited the top producers, animator, composers to make this documentary and the cartoon show to hit big next year. Stay tuned pleasth...

Equinox awkwardness

SO...i am a member of the finest gym in NYC and that's Equinox Fitness Club. The sprawling fitness floor is lined with state of the art machines, plasma TVs, pools, hot tubs etc. You name it this place has got it. Along with all of that the walls are lined with mirrors. Don't get me wrong now, everyone loves looking at themselves giving the arms a little vain action lol. My point today is how awkward it is when you catch someone looking at you from across the room (girl or guy) and every time you go to take a glance over, that person is staring right back at you. This is not talking about a flirtatious or a gay look just the phase that is impossible to break until your workout is done with...just an awkward situation I go through on a daily basis hahaha

LoggerBlogger Launch Party

On Tuesday LockerBlogger.com had their launch party at ESPN Zone in Time Square. My friends and former teammates Chris and Jason Ganter invited me along for the fun. It was great because we got the chance to meet D'Brickashaw Furguson and Kerry Rhodes of the NY Jets and former NY Knick Allan Houston. I told Allan that I would always tweak his ratings back in the 98 NBA Live game because he was underrated...a diss? no no haha. I respect athletes to the fullest because no one has any idea what we go through year in and out while playing a sport (unless you played post high school), so it's always great to hear the pros speak on their past experiences.

The Band Rocked...

Last night I headed down to the lower lower part of the east side, like those streets where it would be normal to see a vampire lol. I went to see my girl Ashley Furst rock the stage with her band. I'm no music expert or anything but I know something good when I see it and it was a great show. My favorite part was when I got the "Blackmaiin" shout out in the show. Stay tuned for the bands music in my movie "The Time Is Now" which I start filming in ten days....

Dream Season has begun for sheezy

This past weekend was a blur, I'm in the stage where I don't know when I'm dreaming or when I'm awake lol. That is why they call it Dream Season so why wake up?...We made many random videos and posted a few via facebookbutt but now its time for some reality which is back 2 work and exercising...4103 pilot episode is underway so stay tuned

Gone...I've lost my mind

Earlier today I thought it would be funny to release a video I made via facebook about my ex girlfriend of 6 years ago. A lot of people told me it would be a bad idea or stupid but I disagreed as I usually do. This video had to be posted because it breaks the mold of more funny things to come. I don't know anyone else that would have made this type of video for an ex but I did :)

Stay Tuned...

The difference...

On this tuesday night me & jp decided to make a funny video just for the heck of it...enjoy pleasth

This will make some people laugh

Along with the Daryll Clark project I also got the green light to start developing a cartoon series called "4103". If anyone knows me and my roomates from college they can obviously tell what this show will be about. I stick with comedy for now because that's all I know "laugh out loud" Stay tuned because there are more developements I have in this Blackmaiin brain...

And The Adventure Begins...

On June 27th I will begin filming and directing my first movie called "The Time Is Now" a Daryll Clark documentary. This idea came to me a few weeks ago and after I assembled my team I figured now would be the perfect time to begin my dream, to film a documentary.
